Thinking of you

This morning I've got a really simple card....
Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz cardstock,
along with stamps from the new Stampin' Up! set Sheltering Tree, in Pear Pizzazz, Hello Honey and Strawberry Slush ink.
I also added a bit of ribbon, tied in a simple knot.
Which I think is so beautiful, so I wanted to share this today with you!

I keep thinking back on the past year, and I've got so many wonderful people in my life, and I am so grateful for all that I have.

A special thank you to my husband Bill, I love you babe!

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas

This is my last Christmas card for 2014 and I can only say I hope its so very Merry!

You never know where or when the next idea will come from, but tonight it came from my dear friend Justin (and some 6x6x designer Papers from Bo Bunny's Altitude Collection)! He was working on a cards (wow)while we were on Skype this evening (yes Christmas Eve), and SSS came up with a bit of oh have you seen, and oh I've got to have that, type of moment... When we got to talkin' about his card and what the plans were, thats when the Bo Bunny's designer paper came into play. Its amazing how much you can get done when your with a friend!

So well I didn't even make this while we were talking, I got back to it after we'd said our goodnights and a simple Merry Christmas to each other. I'd spent a bit of time with the hubby talking about cards and ideas when I told him about the cards Justin had done (again WOW...) and off I went back to the crafty space to get working on mine. Its mostly Stampin' Up! with the exception of the Bo Bunny designer paper.

I've got a Blackberry Bliss Christmas with a dash of Lost Lagoon... and tons of sparkle!
I great mix of retired products (that still have style), some old and I love it!

I hope you have an amazing Christmas...
I'll be back in a couple of days to share my next project!

CYCI #50 Designers Choice Holiday Edition

Its been an amazing first year with CYCI and all the awesome people, design team and challengers.
A little over a year, I thought of the idea with my friend Amanda Frankel, and even though she has moved on, I can't imagine a better beginning. We've seen an incredible growth over the year. Each new change is/was so exciting and wonderful how lucky am I that I got to share every moment with each of you.

Starting into our second year in January will be even better, we've gone global and you'll meet the new designers in just a couple of weeks.

Since day one, Tammy Hein has been with me. Sharing in the ups and downs of running the site, building our name and growing as designers. She has taught me that glitter isn't that bad (cough) and that being a family goes beyond just blood, thanks cuz!

I'd like to take this moment to thank the current design team for all their hard work, so Terry, Kim, Cindi, Billie, Shannon, Marisa, Cynthia, Darla, "thank you all!" I'd be lost without you and your awesome craftyness.

Special thanks to Mr. Justin Krieger and Mr. Brian King for being "AWESOME" (guest designers)!

So to all of you this Christmas, I say "be merry!! and be fabulous!"

Simon Says Winter Inspiration

So I'm trying out a whole new challenge over at Simon Says Stamp this week... for their Winter Inspiration challenge.

Thanks to my friend Justin, I am so hooked on SSS and their products... and while I don't have much (yet) I do have the Dec Kit of the Month, and went to work on a card for the challenge...

this is so exciting!!!

Well here's what I came up with, I hope you like it :)

Using the kit December 2014 and the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles this is what I've come up with.... I did add some chunky glitter for some extra bling!

I used a acetate sheet for the window, and some double sided foam to create my shaker card (yup obsessed).  The Tim Holtz's distressed embossing ink, along with Ranger  Liquid Platinum embossing powder on both the background and the sentiment. I love how it looks!

Like I said, I used the kit for this project with a few add ons...

I hope you like it...

I've brought out the cute on this card... its the Lawn Fawn Yeti Set Go with matching dies. I've got blues, greens, whites, silvers, oh and lots of snow for my yeti!!!

I finsihed the inside of the card with one of the sentiments from the set, and I do love winter (just not the shoveling and driving part). The snow is always a thing of beauty.

I've used Stampin' Up! and Lawn Fawn together for the perfect combo of clean and cute.
Colors like Island Indigo, Perfect Pear, Old Olive, Smokey Slate, Basic Grey with touches of Real Red. I used my Memento ink as a base for all the stamping.  I chose All is Calm DSP and Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz and a Island Indigo card base.
I hope you love my yeti!!!

Fab Fri 56 Color Challenge

So I was chatting with Justin on Skype, so while we were working on projects together, he mentioned Fab Fri, and I am such a weirdo, and so forgot to add them to the blog when I moved to blogger. Its been a while since I visited them and played along. But after seeing the color challenge, I had to give it a try... and here it is.

I got to use my new die from Simon Says Stamp - Luminary Circles, isn't it awesome! Yes it is!!!!
The color challenge called for five colors, so I've used Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake for my card base, Coastal Cabana for the under layer, and Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay Candy Dots in with the die. I've got Typeset DSP behind my layer of Very Vanilla cardstock, and added a few rhinestones, some linen thread and the hugs and kisses from Good Greetings stamp set to complete my card.

I hope you love it!

Freshly Made Sketches #166 - A Sketch by Karren

Okay, so I've haven't had much time to play at my favorite challenges lately, been so busy with the holidays, and I am hoping to get back to a normal (ha-ha) schedule soon. But today I could not pass up the chance to use my new stamp set "Oh Deer" from Unity Stamp Co. isn't it the cutest thing!

So I've got a mix of markers from Stampin' Up! for the lights on my reindeer antlers! My cardstock is in baked brown sugar, cherry cobbler coordinations(which is using the Simon Says Stamp : Stitched Rectangles), whisper white, and a bit of lost lagoon!
I've added a bit of crystal effects to each of the little lites, and finished it up with some linen thread and the sentiment from the Oh Deer stamp set!

I had so much fun making this!

CYCI #48 A Color Challenge

Well now... we've got some colors for you... Blackberry Bliss, Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake...
Can You Case It? is rockin' this awesome colors and I am lovin' my awesome card this week!

When I started putting my card together, I told Tammy Hein (another Design Team Member) that  I don't even own Coastal Cabana... She asked me how can you not have that color its awesome! Okay, well maybe not an Eva color (you know me) but I gotta say... it really give my card a pop of kick ass color! Then I remembered I bought a pack of cardstock with the In Colors (2013-2015).

Oh yeah!  I've got some old favs and I even dug in the vault for the Love & Joy from last years Holiday Catty Collection. It had the size and impact I was looking for and I totally love it with the Endless wishes snowflakes!  I got a framed layer of cardstock all tied up with a bow (knot) and completely fell in love with coastal cabana for this card!

The colors are an outstanding combination and I'm so glad it rocks!

For my Hubby and me...

Pressed Clay Snowman

Well now, its late sunday night, and I've got crafty notions rolling around in my head... so here's what I did. I made a snowman from pressed clay, and I even used GLITTER, go figure, maybe Tammy and Terri are rubbin' off on my after all!

First I made the three parts of the body, then I added the coal(ish) parts with a Stampin' Write marker, along with blush on his cheeks and colored his nose.
Then I went to work on some arms... I used a small left over bit from a piece of Kraft paper. Then I moved to his scarf, which was a lot of fun making! But my favorite part is making his earmuffs! With a bit of floral wire, and some tiny buttons I spun linen thread around the wire until it was nice and thick, then using hot glue, I added the button muffs! I put a wire all the way through him for extra stability and used some hot glue and glitter for an ice effect on the ground.

I hope you've enjoyed my project today...

CYCI #47 A sketch challenge

Well this week we've got a get sketch by Kim Ryden.
Can You Case It? also has the awesomely amazing Brian King as our guest designer!!!
How lucky are we?
The team went all out on this weeks challenge, and you are going LOVE what they came up with!

Well I had an interesting day... both a little sad and happy.
First, we went to pick Butter up from the girls place, and then headed to bowling... Butter was mister sloppy bowler, it was very entertaining! His team "the little big bowlers" are made of 2 other boys who are brothers.  Its always interesting to see who is going to do great and who is gonna bomb in a great way!
Next we headed home to finally put the tree up... and well that was the sad part.. my little white tree died! Yes it did... the lights would not come on for nothing, and after robbing the little tree (in my blog post for the NPSC Bazaar) of most of its lights, we gave up... then Butter and I were off to find a new one! We found one, that was skinny and tall, but not white, ah well, I guess green will do.
So we get home and bring it in, and put it up and I've gotta say we did a good job. Butter did a lot of the work this year, and I am very proud of him. Maybe he has an artsy side after all!
So here is the new tree, along with our stockings, my button tree, and of course Gus!

So here's my take on the sketch... I have some vellum, on whisper white cs. embossed with the Pretty Print folder (retired) topped with a bow and a bubble cap with the washi from the all new Project Life by Stampin' Up! Hello December Accessory Pack on a Smokey Slate Cut & Ready Card Base.
Now, here's where it got interesting for me... instead of using another piece of cs, I took out my white gel pen and doodled... and I love how whimsy it looks... of course it needed a sentiment to finish it off, and you know I love to make thank you cards!
So there you have it... CYCI #47 is whimsy and a little Brian King! Thanks for stoppin' by

Freshly Made Sketches #163 - A Sketch by Cindy H.

Wow... I can't believe its already Wednesday!!! Had a great time yesterday with my friend on Hangouts... we chatted for a while... it was nice to connect again. So today I wanted to say thanks!

It's a rare thing to have good friends that support you in life, and I am really happy to have so many wonderful people in mine. I didn't do a christmas card, I wanted something that would embody the feelings of appreciation I have for those around me...
Bill, my kids, Billie Jo, The CYCI gang, my buddy Justin, and you, of course!

Okay, so maybe we are not in the same room when we craft,
but I think of it as crafting together, with each card, box and project you share.

You are all gifts to me, thank you!

Butter, Gus and Gold... oh yeah!

Well back to the grind, and the coffee (lol, yes its funny, grind, coffee.... no? okay) its another Monday and yes, that means Butter and homeschool... I need to back this up just a bit...

On my way to the Keurig and my Starbucks this morning I noticed that Gus was outside, so I ask Bill how long he's been out there... well it was a while, and for an inside dog, who doesn't really care to be was too long! Butter feel back asleep on the couch after letting him go out and well thats how Gus ended up being outside for too long! He came in with a thank you look on his little face, and headed straight to the fireplace to get warm and comfy!

Butter on the other hand, was a bear to get going today! lol... Mister party all night long, didn't like the idea of morning coming so soon. But after yelling a few times, and breakfast he was ready to get moving on his school work and so was I... then something really cool happened, in less then two hours he completed all of his regular assignments and disappeared again. I thought for sure I'd find him sleeping' on the couch but he was grabbing lunch! I've got a great kid.

Anyway on to todays card! Which is loverly.... oh yeah... I said: loverly!
Here is the front of the card, which has the Positively Chevron stamp in the background, and the Seasonally Scattered for my sentiment! Topped off with a gold ribbon, with a bit of black to break it up!

Now the inside of the card, where I again used the chevron stamp, and added the good greetings stamp and another piece of black ribbon and lots of space to write a loverly note!  lol

Here is a shot that shows both outside and inside at the same time... so you get the merry and christmas all at the same time!

Let's Celebrate

Thanks to my friend Kim, she shared with me a great newish challenge site called SSInkspiration!

Had a bit of time to do a card this evening, so this is what I've come up with! I started by tinting the seam binding ribbon from whisper white to an crumb cake with highlights and deep tones, I love how it turned out! so I decided to make a card to put it on, lol!
Ok so I grab my Positively Chevron stamp, with crumb cake on very vanilla. Then I pulled out my Star framelits, in VV and dubbed the edges with CC, then I added the Let's Celebrate stamp set for the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler.  My layers are simple, with dimensionals use between the Crumb Cake card base and Very Vanilla layer under the stamped Pos. Chvn.  I finished it off with a few stars in different sizes from the confetti stars punch and ta da!!!

Well I hope you've enjoyed my card
Until next time, peace out!

CYCI #44 A Color Challenge

Well this week at Can You Case It? we have a color challenge...
WOW are these colors amazing or what!

I started my card during my craft-a-thon for the bazaar and I must admit, I was on a roll!
I prepared over 200 hundred cards, that I've made during the past year, did curvy keepsake chocolate gift boxes, pencil stocking stuffers, tons of gift tags, fry boxes, notebook with matching pens and of course chocolate candy tins!

I want to thank my friends who stopped by to support me,
so Tara, Terri, Sharon! Thanks ladies, you're the best!

I also wanted to say thank you to North Plains Senior Center for their continued support of the community we share, you ROCK!!!

Lastly I want to thank Butter and Bill for putting up with me during my crazy lady crafting time, I love you guys <3 (its a heart) lol... always!

So here is the card I managed to get done among other things this week!
I used my star framelits, basic layering along with the Joy framelit from the Wonderful Wreath collection and linen thread to keep the Joy where it belongs :) .
I kept my card simple, and easy to cas(e) for my friends who love to paper craft.

Thanks for stopping by
