Freshly Made Sketches #138 – A Sketch by Jen T.

I’m up pretty late tonight.. and I am working on Designs and looking around through my favorite challenge sites. Fresh Made Sketches has a seriously incredible sketch by Jen T.
The simple ones are by far the hardest… keep ‘em clean and still get so much of yourself in each card. I’m one of the lucky ones, I have a great new stamp set called Bravo… it has these bold sentiments which is perfect but you have to find the right time to use them. This is one of those times. The center layer is the focal point and of the utmost importance on how it feels on and with the rest of the card. DSP is easier, much easier… once you choose one! lol… Moonlight is a great choice, the graphics are bold and yet subtle….and they give the card a pop without being a “IN YOUR FACE” kind of feeling. I added other touches, like a small strip of Crumb Cake, Linen Thread, a Button and Organza Ribbon hiden ever so slightly. Its a great card… the idea of sharing it with someone for a special occasion makes it better.  Until next time…
You take care… and thank for stoppin’ by

PPA205 – A Sketch Challenge

Been working on a black and white themed card for a few weeks trying all kinds of things… and while this card may not be “the one” it is a lovely card…. and simple. Which is my favorite, simple and elegant! Pal Paper Arts has a wonderful sketch with lots going on, in a simple way. rectangles, circles, and layers!!!
Well I figured, maybe I should give it a try with my B/W theme… nothing like weeks from Convention and still working on ideas for swaps, and at the point the only thing that comes to mind is that I’m in trouble here!

Keeping it short and sweet! I used the Blended Bloom and ran it through the big shot, with circle framelits, throw in another layer! As for twine rapping it around four times in two areas gives the appearance of having separated pieces of cardstock. I topped it off when a Candy Dot in Pear Pizzazz…. Oh yeah the Blended Bloom is embossed in Black!
Life will be crazy around here until after convention… but hold on tight and we might just make it!

CYCI20 Sketch

When I was designing the sketch for this weeks challenge at, I really didn’t have a plan in mind. My, how quickly things change! lol… Between Gus’s neediness this morning and Butter’s school year coming to an end, I am very excited for June 13th to come… just 4 weeks and school will be over, well for a few months!  I’ve got so much going on. A new blog, is growing and growing, and a private group on FB has been keeping me busy!  And of all things I was putting a head board together late last night…but had to stop when I noticed the next step was hammering, cant do that at 11:30 at night! lol!!!  Like I said, I’ve been really busy!

My card is fun and kid friendly! You’ve got the Basic Grey cardstock, with Real Red, and Silver Foil as the backdrop… then the star pops right out at you!  Finishing it off with the Cool Kid stamp set, and a couple of rhinestones. With Butter and Gus by my side, the super Kid and awesome Dog… get into some trouble and save the day all at the same time. I would be lost without them. So yes, this card is for them!  They are superhero’s today and always!  Enjoy the long weekend my friends!

PPA 204

PPA204 – A Sketch Challenge

Hey… PPA204 is my first challenge on the new Eva’s cards and things…. website! It’s been a hard decision to move my blog, but I know its for the best!
So this week Pals has a sketch challenge and it is awesome!!!

OK, so I am loving the black and yellow… (if you know the song sing it…. my peoples) lol… And what better to stamp into Crushed Curry… but a big flower and Regarding Dahlias fits perfectly. The card is simple, and elegant with a bit of whimsy and I love it! You know that feeling when you go looking for a candy dot and find that you don’t have the color you need… well its nothing a sharpie can’t fix!  I used a bit of whisper white taffeta ribbon to create a bit of interest and my final touch is the oval punched sentiment, Hello You…. While my card is not a winner by any means it has a beauty to it, and undoubtedly one of a kind!
Of late, I have been keeping my posts short, well there is a lot to do, before Convention and even more with the end of the school year. I have been working really hard at building a new venture, running three completely different blogs, five group pages on Facebook, homeschooling Butter, and my IT consulting business too! I love being busy. I want to thank the gals I spend most of my time with Tammy, Amanda, Eileen, Terri, Laura… to know you are incredible women and it is my honor!
Oh yeah…. Convention Bound has such a blessing in my life! Thanks CB14 members for always being ready…. and go!
