CYCI 25 Design Team Card

I've got a really simple (under 5 min to make) card... with lots of stampin' and embellishments. This quick and easy card was so much fun to put together for the Design team card this week. I used three types of ribbon for the embellishments - Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon, Gold Sequin Ribbon, Linen Thread to give easy design a real pop. Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Card Sketch #99

Wow... is Wednesday already... Bill has a short week at work so we have four days to bugg each other... Ah romance!
So... I can't believe how many cards, I've gotten done this week, and I feel great! My swaps are complete (minus, a small personal swap) and packed in the carry on bag. Just this morning Bill was sayin' "How you gonna get up that early, and you know that SLC is an hour before us" I told him I will wing it! lol.. and if you should find me sleepin' in a corner well you can see "Eva needs her nap time" HAHA!!!
So on to my card... Paper Craft Crew has got a cool sketch and I was like I have time, so ta-da I did it!
I started by choosing my DSP... its so pretty! Coordinating cardstock and embellishments, hand coloring a half a dozen rhinestones and a dash of ribbon.
I used the envelope liners, and rolled the top piece back over on the top and ran my ribbon through it... a simple knot was all the Very Vanilla needed.  I have a small heart on one of my word bubbles peeking out the top of the liner layer and the "Hi" on the corner.  In the bottom area, I have the Bordering Blooms very simple and with the rhinestone has a highlight.
Yes Very Vanilla and Basic Black are rich, and romantic.... and one of my favorite colors to pair.
I hope you enjoy my card!

The Paper Players 201

The paper players... ah how i've missed your fun challenges!!!  I'm Back!
Instead of going to bed, yep... I found a really cute sketch and thought I'd give it a try. Been catching up on my blog postings lately and I've really enjoyed it. For the past few months Butter and I have been working on scheduling our lives, since we started homeschooling him. Life has indeed been busy and I've really missed working on all the amazing challenge sites, so this week I took a week off from my normal day to day and I'm focusing on building my personal relationships back! My card time is just one of those small changes that I've been working on. Eva's cards and things is finally finished and I've been having a blast working on new cards and spending time with Butter each morning to keep his education on the forefront of his mind. 9 year olds are pretty much self guiding but he needs a good push into the right direction. The you've got me on the card is the time we spend each day talking with each other about math, reading and grammar, yes I realize its summer... but thats no reason to slack in education!!!
I've used three different stamp sets for this card. All give the card a layer of stampy goodness!!!  Layers of cardstock, embellishments are all well and good but without the right stamps its just another card that will end up in the trash... I mean not everything I make turns out great.... : ) to those who follow my blog know I've put out some doozies, lol!
I hope you like the card... its my lets get brave card... three stamps sets!!!
Have a great day everyone.... see you on the flip side

PPA208 - A Sketch Challenge

Well now, its been a while since my last Pals Paper Arts challenge and and I love love love the sketch!!! So not only did I do a card, but Butter joined me as well and we have two cards this week. Since his summer break, Butter (William age 9) he has made some pretty cool cards, and I feel very proud when he makes them with me. He has never really been an artsy child, but I think with cards he is finding a medium that he likes to work with other than lego's.
As for me I have finally gotten the new blog running the all the bells and whistles... and amazingly enough without the issues the old site had!
PPA's sketch had me thinking... how would I do the card base, VELLUM! and the rest kinda fell together... and I love it.
First I have a base of vellum, embossed with the Mosaic folder and then I added a simple inside base of Whisper White. For the actual sketch layout - I mixed it up with Washi tape, cardstock, DSP, and embellishments. I chose the Hello Darling stamp set... I mean come on, it's awesome right!!! While the picture only shows a bit of the embossed vellum... it is fabulous with rich texture, and incredible finishing touches! It felt great to work on PPA and I am hopeful I can fit it into my schedule more often.

Here it the card that Butter made.... he picked out everything... and I helped him when his stamping ending in a halo.... I told him its not a problem its an opportunity to use sequins!  He is very proud of his card! I hope he will be joining me each week to showcase his cards and things!

CYCI22 - A Fathers Day Challenge
Well now... Here is my Design Team card.. for the Father's Day Challenge!!

I went in a different direction than I normally do.. and since I know of tons of stories like this I thought I'd share. The Image from Project Life says "The Good Life" that is what I have... and here is why:
My card is for all the mom-dads ... the women who work hard and raise their kids on their own! Their job involves being both mother and father, and I think they are the bravest of women!  For a long time my mom had this title, and I am so grateful for all that she did for us! She never gave up in the 7 (from age 1-8) years she spent tirelessly raises her babies, alone, working, cleaning, cooking, worrying, praying and being a great parent! Thanks Ma!
So to all the Mom's who are living the role as Dad as well... Keep up the great job!!!

Eva : )
