Pals Paper Arts 217 - a Sketch Challenge

PPA217 Gold Garland Tree
I haven't been feeling well in the past week, so after a couple of days taking it easy, I'm back at my desk working on Pals Paper Arts Sketch. The circle in the corner was indeed a simple design that you could take in any direction you wanted to, and Nicole was genius in doing it this way!
I went with a simple design, and blinged it up a bit with some gold twine... from the Gold Bakers twine which is a natural twine and gold thread entwined together.  I used it as garland on my little tree, from the Festival of Trees stamp set.  I used a few different stamps and I think they blend perfectly... don't you just love the way Stampin' Up! products do that!
My card stock is very simple and clean, even after I stamped it with Gorgeous Grunge and Endless Wishes.  The last little touch is the JOY, which is very vanilla cs that I colored with Baked Brown Sugar Ink, but comes off looking more Krafty in color, but has bits bolder coloring around the edges!

Paper Players 210

Been feeling awful today.. this week has been a bad one for my PKD Dystonia... my body has a mind of its own, and while I'm not having any tremors or movement over load I found the energy and time to do a card for the Paper Players... Gonna make this quick...arms are not working right... sorry

I did the card has lot of fun going on, I've got a button and linen thread, my thank you sentiment and the colored candy dots. For the card base,I've got a lotta pop with the Tangelo Twist, stamped tone on tone with the So Very Grateful stamp set,  I used the same stamps along with dimensionals to create the under layer in Lost Lagoon. With my white gel pen I highlighted a few of the flowers in the center. I hope you like it...

Freshly Made Sketches #150 - A Sketch by Linda C.

Well its been one of "those" weeks, where creating has not come easy... the brain is mush! However that ended the moment I saw the FMS150 sketch! Light Bulb!!!!  Linda's fabulous sketch got my mind moving a million miles per minute and I was off an running again. I loved the flowers on the sketch, and while I don't normally do them, it was the perfect opportunity to get back to work, so this is what I came up with!
I've got layers of the scalloped circles, with some linen thread weaved into the main flower, while the smaller one kisses it! I've gone with kraft paper instead of traditional cardstock.... and more of a country vintage look and feel! The layers of burlap, linen thread and seam binding ribbon give me the incredible texture and the candy dots, and pearls finish the look.  Adding a small but powerful Thank

Well its Saturday... and time for my Can You Case It? Design team project!
We've recently we vamped the schedule and challenge line up... into 5 simple challenges, Sketch, Color, Pick A Page, Project Life / PL Cards / Scrapbooking, Holiday and Designer Choice!
This week is our Pick a Page challenge where you focus on a page from the Stampin' Up! Catalog and choose product(s) to work into your design.
This week I've picked well.. and I love how it turned out!  Page 201 has these incredible Polka Dot Tag a Gift Bag! You can do just about anything you want with them for your projects!
CYCI 32 Eva Bussom
I created an envelope that has a pull out card, you can attach a gift card to. But folding the bag in half, I can easily fit it into an envelope for mailing or without to hand directly to the recipient! I've added fun touches like the Sequin Trim, or In Color Printed Clothes Pin, and Burlap & Organza Ribbons. I finally got a chance to use my new stamp Chalk Lines which photopolymer, so you can see exactly where you want it to go.... This is a quick and easy project taking less than 10 minutes to complete, including prep time!
Enjoy the weekend, thanks for stopping by

PPA215 - A Color Challenge

Well now... what to make... what to make... these are those kinda colors that can go "POP" and rightly so they deserve some WOW!  Pals has done it yet again! Now hopefully I can live up to the powerful colors! I'm tired, but if I don't try I wont be able to sleep at all ... thinking I've left this challenge from Pals Paper Arts undone!  :P
I started by figuring out what stamps I was gonna use first! To my amazement I picked three sets... all of them had a piece of the puzzle, then you have that light bulb moment when you know you've done something right! Its not an overly busy card, at the same time its not a simple card either, its that middle ground where it clicks and there is nothing I'd change about it... I've framed it out with lots of layers, and some basic black baker's twine!  While this is not my usual under 10 minute card... it was tons of fun to make, and in the end thats all that matters! I hope you enjoyed my card! Well back to nap time....

Freshly Made Sketches 149

Freshly Made Sketches 149  a Sketch by Rita
This sketch is one of those where you see it and right away you know what you're making...
Hey its Thursday and I can't believe the week is almost over, come on weekend, this momma needs a break!  So today I've got another great holiday card!
With traditional colors no less, and I love how it turned out.  I used the Bright and Beautiful stamp set to create wonderful corner pieces, and the Bordering Blooms for the lines across the sketch. I've stamped off the middle piece again using one of the stars, and the main sentiment, added a pop with candy dots. My finishing touch was the cherry cobbler baker's twine along with the linen thread, I removed the white thread, and wound the two together. I hope you've enjoyed my card!

Curvy Keepsake Box from Stampin' Up!

Since I'm not a normal person, I dont normally follow the rules, and this is one of those times, late last month those of us who attended Convention had the first look at the all new 2014 Holiday Catalog from Stampin' Up! Wow, were we lucky!   Here are a few items I created using the new Curvy Keepsake Box (product number will be updated on 8-28-2014 when the products and catalog are released to the public)
I have three samples all using the CKB, a window sheet or vellum, I hope you like them
This was the first one I created, using a window sheet, and filled with candy... but why stop there, right?

the second was a little ghost, made with the owl punch, a simple tea light (battery operated) and simple accessories like the White & Tangerine  Two Tone Trim

The last was a night light in vellum with the all new TIEF Lucky Stars (coming 8-28-2014) and a simple piece of seam binding ribbon in Wild Wasabi.

Here is the link to my pinterest page for this project! : )
I hope you've enjoyed my holiday gift and everyday decor for your home. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Feather Friend

When I was looking for a stamp to go along with the Four Feathers stamp I found my paper pumpkin's hey friend.... and ink spots stamps... well I think they'd be perfect, cause the "Hey There" looks handwritten, like it had been done with a quill, so thats what I did!

I've been very busy of late, working with the new Curvy Keepsake Box, and really needed to take a step back and work on something new.... I love how it turned out!

Girls wear blue too... Framed Art

Got working on the idea of a baby card... and instead of putting in onto a cardbase, I went for the My Paper Pumpkin Framed Love from May 2014, I also grabbed a die cut piece from the Pop-Up Posies kit, and a couple of treat cups to make the skirt on the all too cute onesie from the Something for Baby stamp set... and cut a bunch of blanks using the Babys First framelits. After choosing the best girly blue (which was soft sky) I went to town putting all the pieces together. I hope you like it... soon it will be a gift to a neighbor who is having a baby girl!

Well we have some exciting news at Can You Case It? and some sad news... sad news first... Design Team member Laura has decided to leave the team, and I'm gonna miss her so much that even with the good news, I can't imagine the team without her! As for the good news, the team has added 5 new members they are Darla, Emmy, Misty, Jet and Kim. All are great designers and all have wonderful things to share with the group and Design Team!
I hope you will take a moment and welcome them!
Eva 30
Much as I always do, I tried my best to stay true to the sketch! And I must say I am loving the new stapler by Stampin' Up! its so easy to use... and even after using it a dozen or so times, it worked the first time, every time and didn't hurt my hands! Which is a great thing if you are like me and suffer from arthritis. I've got a bit of vellum going on on this card, and I used my banner punch for it. Then I stapled it along with my other banner strip. I've got the all new stamp set Amazing Birthday from Stampin' Up! (of course) and the new DSP Typeset!
Have a great weekend... and thanks for dropping by

Fab Friday 47

Well what a week... and I get to start the weekend with a great sketch and an invitation!
Now Friday started off really great... shortly after 2 am with a thunderstorm with lightning and Gus somehow ended up in my bed, then he proceed to take it over...  lol, ah the life of a dog!
I'm loving the circles, but of course I'm gonna try and stay true to the sketch, but then I find myself gravitating toward ovals... and an idea!!! Ta-da!!!!
FabFri47 FabFri47inside
I used a lot of neutrals on this card, to give the invitation warmth, and cozy feeling.  I took apart a small piece of burlap ribbon, and used the strings to make the loops under the oval sentiment layer Mingle All the Way stamp set and finished it off with an Autumn Wooden Element. There is also more of a woodsy touch with the Woodgrain Embossing folder. For the inside layer I used the  Holiday Invitation stamp set and pieced the layout on the large stampin' acrylic block, and stamped the additional images and adhered it with snail. I hope you've enjoyed my card today!
