Pressed Clay Snowman

Well now, its late sunday night, and I've got crafty notions rolling around in my head... so here's what I did. I made a snowman from pressed clay, and I even used GLITTER, go figure, maybe Tammy and Terri are rubbin' off on my after all!

First I made the three parts of the body, then I added the coal(ish) parts with a Stampin' Write marker, along with blush on his cheeks and colored his nose.
Then I went to work on some arms... I used a small left over bit from a piece of Kraft paper. Then I moved to his scarf, which was a lot of fun making! But my favorite part is making his earmuffs! With a bit of floral wire, and some tiny buttons I spun linen thread around the wire until it was nice and thick, then using hot glue, I added the button muffs! I put a wire all the way through him for extra stability and used some hot glue and glitter for an ice effect on the ground.

I hope you've enjoyed my project today...

CYCI #47 A sketch challenge

Well this week we've got a get sketch by Kim Ryden.
Can You Case It? also has the awesomely amazing Brian King as our guest designer!!!
How lucky are we?
The team went all out on this weeks challenge, and you are going LOVE what they came up with!

Well I had an interesting day... both a little sad and happy.
First, we went to pick Butter up from the girls place, and then headed to bowling... Butter was mister sloppy bowler, it was very entertaining! His team "the little big bowlers" are made of 2 other boys who are brothers.  Its always interesting to see who is going to do great and who is gonna bomb in a great way!
Next we headed home to finally put the tree up... and well that was the sad part.. my little white tree died! Yes it did... the lights would not come on for nothing, and after robbing the little tree (in my blog post for the NPSC Bazaar) of most of its lights, we gave up... then Butter and I were off to find a new one! We found one, that was skinny and tall, but not white, ah well, I guess green will do.
So we get home and bring it in, and put it up and I've gotta say we did a good job. Butter did a lot of the work this year, and I am very proud of him. Maybe he has an artsy side after all!
So here is the new tree, along with our stockings, my button tree, and of course Gus!

So here's my take on the sketch... I have some vellum, on whisper white cs. embossed with the Pretty Print folder (retired) topped with a bow and a bubble cap with the washi from the all new Project Life by Stampin' Up! Hello December Accessory Pack on a Smokey Slate Cut & Ready Card Base.
Now, here's where it got interesting for me... instead of using another piece of cs, I took out my white gel pen and doodled... and I love how whimsy it looks... of course it needed a sentiment to finish it off, and you know I love to make thank you cards!
So there you have it... CYCI #47 is whimsy and a little Brian King! Thanks for stoppin' by

Freshly Made Sketches #163 - A Sketch by Cindy H.

Wow... I can't believe its already Wednesday!!! Had a great time yesterday with my friend on Hangouts... we chatted for a while... it was nice to connect again. So today I wanted to say thanks!

It's a rare thing to have good friends that support you in life, and I am really happy to have so many wonderful people in mine. I didn't do a christmas card, I wanted something that would embody the feelings of appreciation I have for those around me...
Bill, my kids, Billie Jo, The CYCI gang, my buddy Justin, and you, of course!

Okay, so maybe we are not in the same room when we craft,
but I think of it as crafting together, with each card, box and project you share.

You are all gifts to me, thank you!

Butter, Gus and Gold... oh yeah!

Well back to the grind, and the coffee (lol, yes its funny, grind, coffee.... no? okay) its another Monday and yes, that means Butter and homeschool... I need to back this up just a bit...

On my way to the Keurig and my Starbucks this morning I noticed that Gus was outside, so I ask Bill how long he's been out there... well it was a while, and for an inside dog, who doesn't really care to be was too long! Butter feel back asleep on the couch after letting him go out and well thats how Gus ended up being outside for too long! He came in with a thank you look on his little face, and headed straight to the fireplace to get warm and comfy!

Butter on the other hand, was a bear to get going today! lol... Mister party all night long, didn't like the idea of morning coming so soon. But after yelling a few times, and breakfast he was ready to get moving on his school work and so was I... then something really cool happened, in less then two hours he completed all of his regular assignments and disappeared again. I thought for sure I'd find him sleeping' on the couch but he was grabbing lunch! I've got a great kid.

Anyway on to todays card! Which is loverly.... oh yeah... I said: loverly!
Here is the front of the card, which has the Positively Chevron stamp in the background, and the Seasonally Scattered for my sentiment! Topped off with a gold ribbon, with a bit of black to break it up!

Now the inside of the card, where I again used the chevron stamp, and added the good greetings stamp and another piece of black ribbon and lots of space to write a loverly note!  lol

Here is a shot that shows both outside and inside at the same time... so you get the merry and christmas all at the same time!

I recently did some digging, because folks were unable to comment to my blog, and what I found was that an issue with my being a google+ user for comments was the culprit.

I hope that you will repost your recent comments, but if not, I look forward to your comments in the future!

Let's Celebrate

Thanks to my friend Kim, she shared with me a great newish challenge site called SSInkspiration!

Had a bit of time to do a card this evening, so this is what I've come up with! I started by tinting the seam binding ribbon from whisper white to an crumb cake with highlights and deep tones, I love how it turned out! so I decided to make a card to put it on, lol!
Ok so I grab my Positively Chevron stamp, with crumb cake on very vanilla. Then I pulled out my Star framelits, in VV and dubbed the edges with CC, then I added the Let's Celebrate stamp set for the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler.  My layers are simple, with dimensionals use between the Crumb Cake card base and Very Vanilla layer under the stamped Pos. Chvn.  I finished it off with a few stars in different sizes from the confetti stars punch and ta da!!!

Well I hope you've enjoyed my card
Until next time, peace out!

I started my card during my craft-a-thon for the bazaar and I must admit, I was on a roll!

Friends Who Know...

Well another day where I had enough time to do a little crafting and I got my crafty on!
I started by pulling out the night of navy color, and thought na.... too dark, or was it? So then I grabbed the Friends Who Know stamp set, and got to work....
Once I that done, it needed something, so I went for the blendabilities in coastal cabana and starting coloring in parts of it. The Dots and Stripe would be perfect for the background with it too... lightest and medium were just the ticket and then a duh moment where you know you need some twine on it, but where... so when I laid everything it looked perfect, left it is!

I hope you love it!
