SSINK - Quick Cards

Hello and good morning!
Today's assignment is a Quick Card....

Quick card.... not so quick thought process, lol (as a friend recently told me).

My cards are more of the special of the day....
you either understand what it is you're getting or you don't order it!
Easy yes, simple NEVER!!!

Today's card is simple and simply stunning... for a today's special... yup its pretty tasty!

I went for a pairing of wonder wisteria and perfect plum on very vanilla cardstock and matching vv satin ribbon. I really hope you like love it, most of the time easy elegant just works...

All joking aside, today Bill will have ablation done for his heart, so I will be at the medical center with him. I remember when he had his valve (job) replaced in 07, scariest day of my life... the idea that he might not be here,is far too hellish a thing to think of... he is the love of my life!
So while he is the one I should be worried about I know in an hour, he will be the one assuring me that everything is going to be fine... I will follow up after we get home... hopefully this will help him to feel better!

Silver Stenciled Rose

I've got a basic wedding card....
I used one of the die cuts from the Artisan Embellishment kit to stencil my Encore Silver Ink onto my whisper white cardstock. I added the Congratulations from the Happy Congratulations Stamp Set.
Simple piece of White Organza and a silver button (from the kit as well) to complete my design. I mounted it on a 5 x 5 basic black card base.

FMS168 and Unity Color 24

Well tonight I am on a roll... and I hope you will agree that sometimes a girl needs needs to do what ya gotta do! I use this stamp set from Unity for the challenge!!!

I started by grabbing a piece of watercolor paper (Stampin' Up!) and then used Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon (SU!) and water colored the two colors , with a large area in the middle in LL. Then after it started to dry, I did a layer of (Tsukineko) Frost White (retired) shimmer gel on top, and sponged it and left it until it dried (pearly watercolor). Then I got to work on the stamping, I picked my I like it dirty (Unity Stamp Co) and my (Spectrum Noir) Alcohol Markers to color in my martini glass. I used a matching stamp "I like it dirty" from the same set onto whisper white cardstock (SU) and finished it off with a bit of linen thread, blackberry bliss stitched satin ribbon and a safety pin from the Vintage trinkets (SU) .

Here is a close up of my finishing touches!

Well thats it... oh yeah, I used a 2" circle punch (SU) and Blackberry Bliss cardstock for the cardbase!

Gift Card for any Occasion

Today, I'm a bit late posting to my blog... my camera was dead (battery) and I had to wait for it to charge, before I could take pics. Anyway... I've got a gift card enclosure (holder) with a stamped center, and it still offers lots of room for a gift card (or two).

I've used a simple cotton ribbon, to close my gift card and added a YAY tag with the leftover thread from the gold sequin (another project).
When you open it up, I've got the all new Balloon Bash Stamp Set (in various Stampin' Write markers, Gel Pen, and Stampin' Dazzle in Gold ) and edged with Birthday Bash DSP (comes in 12 x 12).

I hope you like my project today, and gifting a gift card doesn't have to be boring!

Happy Valentine Mini Treat Bag

Good morning, today I've got the mini treat bag and more for you.

I used vellum for the new Mini Treat bag, along with a 1 inch strip as a belly band (in Real Red cardstock), and added some of the Stacked with Love washi tape. I doubled up my washi and even made a bow! Then I filled one of the hearts with Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities as an accent.  I embossed the bag with Happy Heart TIEF, all products from Stampin' Up!

My mini card for was made with Whisper White cardstock, and the Stacked with Love washi, again, I colored in the Hey Valentine stamp with Cherry Cobbler and Smokey Slate Blendabilities.

I hope you like my project of the day!

You can easily add a small treat along with the mini valentine, to complete it.

SSINKspiration - Watercolor

Technique Tuesday - Watercolor Stamping

I've got a cute watercolor card today, featuring Blended Blooms stamp set and Blackberry Bliss

With lovely layers of Basic Gray, Vellum and a BB base layer.

I used my aqua painters to the work the color in and around the Blooms.

Here's a video I put together on how to watercolor with dry paper.

---- Some samples ----

This is the reInker (not as deep in color) watercolor technique as in the video.

I used a Stampin' Write Marker next, and it works... not as nice, but it works

Here you can clearing see the ink has gone out of the lines of the petals, this happens when you use too much water.
I used a dry watercolor paper technique on all samples shown.
I hope you like my card and tutorial today!

While I loved how deep my blossom is, I decided to try a couple of different things, so here they are

SSINKspiration Sketch Challenge Jan 2015

So today we've got a challenge at SSINK and you're gonna love it!!!

I started my card with some Pool Party cardstock, along with Bermuda Bay, Very Vanilla and Naturals Ivory.  The sketch calls for a part of a circle, so instead I used my Blended Bloom with Coastal Cabana Blendabilities on Typeset DSP. I added some Linen Thread and Basic Pearls as my embellishments. Where I used the Bloom with Hope "with Sympathy" stamp for my sentiment.

I hope you enjoy my card today! And Don't forget to join us for this challenge, and check us out daily for some awesome INKspiration!

I used my Squares Collection thinlits to make the pool party layer frame for my shaker card!

Perpetual Calendar by Stampin' Up!

The new Perpetual Calendar by Stampin' Up!
Here is my finished project!

So here's what I did to make this awesomely awesome bound perpetual calendar

I started by cutting my crumb cake cardstock to 6 x 11 (12 of them)

I also had to cut off about a ¼ inch from the chip board /backer board (striped) included in the kit

I started my sandwich by adding the chip board first, then the 12 pieces of crumb cake, then topped it with the chip board/backer board(from the kit)

I ran each piece through my cinch, then bound it with a 1” wire binding.

After that, I started to stamp and embellishment my printed calendar sheets (included in the kit).
The rest is pretty much up to you… and how you want it to look.

Note if you’re going to color your letters, it is easier to do it while they are still attached to the adhesive letters sheets, and let it dry before using it (when its wet, it can tear).

I also used adhesive on three sides leaving one side (right) open for notes, reminders and gift cards!

I hope this has helped you!
