CYCI #58 - Personal Pick

Finally arrive that moment where I share with you my favorite card
from this weeks challenge over at Can You Case It (CYCI)!!!

What is Eva's Personal Pick
Well it is from all of the cards with the exception of the winner of the challenge.
Each week I will go through the cards and picked the best (IMO).

This week we had an incredible amount of craftiness going on, and I was torn between two cards, sadly I had to chose just one, but I hope you'll agree its an awesome pick!

Char, you are my first personal pick.... and I've got to tell you I am loving your dream catcher!
Between the feathers, stars (great idea btw) and twine! The colors are perfection and the wood background, well its damn good!
Congrats Char!

Don't forget to grab the badge above and share it on your post, or on your blog!

Well we've survived another week... and I am so happy to see the weekend finally here.

Tonight, I was on Google Hangouts with Tammy and Skyping with Justin at the same time this evening it was pretty cool to have my favorite crafty people chatting it up... it was awesome to have such a wonderful evening

Around midnight I come up (from watching tv with Bill) and decided to make a card. Here's what I came up with... I hope you love it as much as I do.

I've got three different stamp sets and my new fav Wink of Stella (thanks Justin - enabler)
I've got the chevron background stamp in Blushing Bride on a Whisper White card base.
A Flower from the Peaceful Petals in Pink Pirouette Blendabilities, Melon Mambo, and Wild Wasabi
the last part is the chalkboard cardstock and whisper white cardstock stamped with Simply Wonderful and a few Rhinestones!

Prayer Card

I haven't done a prayer card before, but its one of those things we really should add to our list of weekly cards to make.

What is a prayer card you ask?
Well normally it is a piece of paper (or small card) that you write the names of people in your life
that need prayers made for them or in their name.  You'd normally add to the offering basket or given to the pastor/preacher at your church.

I've thought about this for a while now... and most of you don't know me to be a christian, but I am very true to my faith, and I ask a lot of God... somedays he asks a lot of me, so today I think its one of those times where I give back!

My prayer card is simple, a Whisper White card base, with a layer of Mossy Meadow cs and Painted Blooms DSP.  I've added a bit of Blackberry Bliss Satin Stitched Ribbon and Vellum Butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits.  Inside is a simple sentiment of Praying for you from the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set!

Here is a Lutheran prayer to share for those of you who are unwell and healing

O God, who are the only source of health and healing the spirit of calm and the eternal peace of this universe, grant unto (name) such a consciousness of your surrounding presence, that they may permit You to give them health and strength and peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

SSINK - My Paper Pumpkin Feb 2015

Today we were asked to make something with out Feb My Paper Pumpkin

But before I get into how mine looks, I wanted to share with you how the kit was intended to look and no one does a MPP kit like fellow crafter Dawn!

Isn't this the best
Check out the rest of Dawn's blog and how she did the MPP- Layers of Gratitude for Feb!

Dawn, thanks for letting me share your awesome blog too!!

Now on to my version of this months awesome My Paper Pumpkin!

I started by cutting off the sides of the boxes that came in the mpp kit for feb.
I followed the score lines and cut all sides off.
I then attached sticky strip and put them back on at the cut edge to score line

Then I cut the 8 panel card apart into 4 smaller cards

I used the stamps that were included in the kit (calypso coral ink) and added sequins, button and some of the twine.

I turned it into a gift card holder!
Here's how the box looked after my quick changes!
I added a scrap of whisper white paper (2 x 2 1/2 inches) stamped using another stamp in the kit (stamped off calypso coral) and added a button and some more twine to finish it off!

MPP - Layers of Gratitude
 Oh yeah...

Isn't this the best!

Saw the sketch by Cindy L. and knew I had to give it a try...
but first here are a few pics from this weekend!

So we had Charlie (Bill's brother) and his girls over night on Saturday, we went out for dinner and have a wonderful time and on Sunday we drove out to Camp 18 (OREGON)  again only this time for breakfast! Everyone loved it! Thanks for coming to see us... and I hope to see you again soon!
Butter and Bill

The Bussom Clan

Butter by the River

Me and Butter

and here's my card for FMS174

I have a Natural White Cardstock, along with Something Borrowed DSP. I used my Butterflies Thinlits on Gold Foil Sheets, with Linen Thread behind the thinlit. I also added my new favorite Jute ribbon as my diagonal element and added the stunning new Lovely Amazing You photopolymer sentiment named after the set, in Chocolate Chip ink! Last but not least I had to throw some pearls in... the dsp is too pretty not to have some bling (aside from the Gold Foil Butterfly).

Here is a close up of the hammering technique I did on my butterflies thinlits!

Well I hope you've enjoyed my card today... and thanks again Cindy L for a great sketch!

Unity Stamp Co Color Challenge 25

I love the soft warm colors... feels like a comfy blankie!

I started by ordering from Unity Stamp Co's - Blossoming thoughts and wishes...
and waited for it to arrive! I so love this stamp set!!!

I didn't have any idea on how to do the background, didn't want the same ol' same designer paper
so instead I used my SU pool party ink pad to ink up my cardstock (3.5 x 5 inches) which gives it a marble type look, and proceeded to add my layers with my stamped images, vellum and twine!

I hope you will take a moment and check out all the cards at the challenge... they are amazing!

SSINK - Case the Occasions Catalog

Today the design team is challenged with a case of, CASE....
We have to case one of the projects in the 2015 Occasions catty, well you all know I love a challenge, and I hope you will agree with me when I say "Nailed It"!!!

So I chose the Bow card on page 12... and my card with an Eva spin on it.... and opposite to male colors!

I used the Adventure Abound DSP Stack, Balloon Bash and the Bow Builder Punch.
I added some whisper white, as did the original and Island Indigo as my card base.
I kept true to the design, even using the same stamp set, but I made a small banner and popped it off the card with a few dimensionals.

I loved everything about the original design and that is why I chose it!

CYCI #57 Clean and Quick Challenge

We're back to another Clean and Quick challenge!
I love how simple and easy it is to make a card under 10 mins.

My card this week is a fun teen card!
For those moments where you're ever so proud of his or her accomplishments, this is an easy way to express your delight with them!

Its bright and cheerful, without all the frilly stuff!

So here's how I did the embossing quickly, I used smokey slate ink (wet) to apply my Iridescent Ice Emboss powder to the Irresistibly Yours DSP and used the Versamark for the way to go, and heated it one right after the other, makes for a easy option to quickly get heat applied embossing done!

Amazing Smooches

Good afternoon... today I've got the new stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Lovely Amazing You!

Talk about a busy day.... First Amanda (my oldest girl) called saying the sewing machine wasn't working right, so I told her to bring it on over and I'd take a look... so after she arrived I got it working properly and she was off... Then my friend Tawnia came by for a quick visit to stamp a couple of pieces with a stamp set she didn't have...

Gus has been acting funny all day, running around being silly.... and beggin' from everyone eating anything... poor baby thinks he's starvin' lol...

Anyway after all that I finally got Bill to change the burnt out light bulbs in the slash room (the room for everything /bla bla) and I was able to finally see what I'm doing! Boy was the room nice and bright!
So on top of using Lovely Amazing You I also added elements from Snuggles & Smooches!

In Pool Party, Strawberry Slush and Memento Black inks
On Coastal Cabana cardstock and whisper white!
Topped off with a bit of White Satin ribbon.

I hope you like my card

Just a quick card!

Just had time today for one quick card so here it is!

I've got Strawberry Slush, Whisper White and Chalkboard cardstock, along with Memento and Strawberry Slush inks. The SAB freebie (with $50 purchase) You Made My Day stamp set, Jute ribbon, Painted Bloom Twine and Candy dots to finish my card!

If you look carefully you will see threads from the jute ribbon, where I pulled apart the ribbon, and it left behind the strings that held it together! I thought it was lovely!

Happiness one stamp at a time

Wow, what a weekend, Saturday running to the coast for lunch and a bit of shopping for chocolate. I got a couple of chocolates for my emergency stash and Butter got the biggest jaw breaker the place had, shoulda got a picture of it, before he went to work on it. And Sunday was Can You Case It? Challenge! Did you see it, we are throwing down on the Valentine colors!

So today is Butter's first day of vacation, one that is well deserved and I am relaxing on the most part waiting for ideas, and a few swaps that still need to come in... I can't wait to see them, so far they've been incredible!

Anyhow in the meantime I made another card to share with you... I kept thinking of Stampin' Up! four feathers stamp set and how I haven't used it much since Sale - A - Bration started... So I pulled it out along with a polka dot tag a gift bag and went to work!

Lost Lagoon (ink, cardstock, ribbon) Rhinestones, Whisper White cardstock, Stapler, Four Feathers, Perfect Pennants, Linen Thread, Island Indigo Ink, Polka Dot Gift Bags

Here is a close up so you can see the texture!

Have an awesome day!

Wow... I can't believe I had time to fit in just one more challenge today!

As you can see I am all over the sketch from Retro Sketches today!

I busted out my new stamp Nerdy Bird from Unity Stamp Co. and I love it with the sketch!

So I started with  Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Hello Honey (1"circle punch), Pool Party (3/4" circle punch) cardstock, and Sweet Dreams DSP from Stampin' Up!
Of Course I had my stamp from USC. and the last piece of the puzzle was an bubble cap from Epiphany Crafts!   I used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol (BGR1, BGR3, CT1, CT2, CT3, and GB5, OR1, and Blender) markers for my main image.

Been a super busy week, and I was checking out the challenges going on this week, lookie what I found at FMS a sketch by Linda C. I figured I'd give it a try.

So when I said it had been super busy, I mean it, Butter has been working his butt off to finish 4th grade and he did in only 102 days (4 1/2 months early) and with a A- average on his grades to top it off...
I am very proud of his accomplishments, and can't wait to see how he does in 5th grade at age 9!

Anyhow here's my card for the challenge!

I used some chalk board paper, real red cardstock, shimmer white cardstock and Stacked with Love DSP stack with a U and a bow in Bakers twine whisper white.

I added a expression thinlit Love to finish it off... well thats where the real fun began, I added some crystal effects to it and used my heat gun on it, and it gives it a bubbly look, or bubble wrapped! Here is a close up...

I hope you've enjoyed the card!
