SOA and lots of fun

Well, it arrived today and just in time for a quick break from my class...
and a little chit chat with Justin on Skype!

I really enjoyed catching up with him, just about anything and everything!
While I was chatting I told him about my new Stamp of Approval from Catherine Pooler,
order that arrived today and we both agreed its fabulous!
I totally loved the first stamp that I'm using on my card today!

Up first is the beautiful Gina K. design exclusive set Beautiful World and it is GORG!!!

I decided to go with a bit of whimsy with Ken Oliver's Color Burst in Chartreuse, tapping gently on the bottle to release the color powder. I also used a bit for painting in parts of the flower graphic, which was stamped in Stazon black.

I cut the black "You" die and along with MFT Stamps Sour Apple card stock using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle dies.

The last thing I did was put my layers together and add some cute 4mm droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

I totally love the way my card turned out and I can't wait to see what else I can come up with the other goodies for the kit!

Until next time

CYCI#117 Color Challenge by Christine

Wow... I can't believe how quickly the week went! It's Can You Case It? time...

Christine selected this week colors, they are fabulous!!!

As for my card... I've got to say I love it!!!
From the dies to the paper it totally came together!

Starting with the sentiments above Friends Forever Together are from the Label Maker Love from MFT Stamps. Next up is that super cute brad, from My Minds Eye On Trend collection.
The awesome flower paper is from Simple Stories, Summer Vibes!
I've got a small stripe of chalkboard paper from SU (retired).  Hemptique neutral thread!
Last is those totally wicked awesome eyeglass frames they are also from MFT Stamps!

I hope you take some time and check out CYCI this week! I know you're gonna love it!

Until next time

Without further ado...

Since I returned to finish my degree, I knew that trying to do it all wouldn't work. But for the past 6 months, I've given it all I can... But alas some things would have to be reduced or stopped altogether.
It saddened me to say that this will be my last time joining Paper Craft Crew's design team for their awesome challenges.

Crystal did a great job on the sketch for this week!

I did a 5 x 5 for my take on the sketch, and added lots and lots of layers, compared to how I normally do my CAS cards!  With just a touch of watercolor over the You, and some sequins on the thread to add something new! I went simple but sleek using elements like the outer edge of a circle that I'd cut before from a bigger circle, and lots of blue hues for the overall design.

A great big THANK YOU to Pam and the crew for letting me be part of something so special!

CYCI#116 A Sketch Challenge

Wow.. I'm back from Illinois, and I had a blast!!! William and I got to spend time with family and it was awesome! The best news that happened while I was there is that my mom can finally start therapy to walk again after her fall and break last fall. My cousin Tammy was a great friend to let us stay with her, we had a blast, making cards, playing games and catching up.  On the other hand, it is great to be home and getting ready for another term at school!

Anyway.. on to this weeks challenge

Elizabeth did this week sketch and I totally love all the detail!

While I was chatting with Tammy on Skype I was making my color selections...
and decided to go with pinks! :) They are fun and happy!

I used a tag die from Crafters Companion that works on their new Diamond Press!

Once I laid out how I wanted the top layer to look, I went to work on the shaker parts.
I used Zig RCCB in pinks and lots of beautiful sequins from Craftin' Desert Divas -Spring Time Flower Power mix. For the bows, I grabbed my Doodlebug Chunky Twine!  Layering it onto a pink cardstock base from MFT Stamps.  The Hi sentiment is from Paper Smooches - Scripty Sayings.

Until next time

CYCI#115 Color Challenge

Hi from Chicago Heights Illinois, I'm visiting my cousin Tammy and my Mom!
Having a blast eating some great food, spending some time catching up and of course, having coffee with my mom at her kitchen table, which takes me back to when I was a kid! Love these moments!

Well now, look we got a bold color challenge that Elizabeth selected for this week.

Gonna keep this post short, I used my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush watercolors.
For my images, I used the Spring Flowers (Simon Says Stamp)
and Scripty Sayings (Paper Smooches).

For my papers I've used, watercolor, chalk board black and 120# SSS white.

I hope you will join in this week at CYCI

Until next week!
